Stress & Wellness Workshop.

How can you manage through these uncertain times without compromising your health and happiness? Learn the skill of resilience. Resilience is the skill of adapting well in the face of adversity, threats, or significant sources of stress. Although some people tend to be more resilient than others, the skill of resilience can be learned.

This engaging and interactive session is based upon a multi-dimensional approach to resilience in these four areas: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. During this 2 part workshop parents, teachers and school community will reflect on their strengths, opportunities for enhancing their resilience and walk away with multiple resilience strategies they can use in the real world for themselves and their children.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Identify the tipping point from stretch to strain, behaviors when overwhelmed, and a strategy to enhance stress capacity.

  2. Define emotions, identify emotional challenges, and walk through a framework for managing emotions.

  3. Learn the connection between resilience and purpose.

  4. Create an action plan to put into practice.

  5. Reflect on the benefits of spa treatments and practice.

Empowering families and young people to take care of their minds, bodies, and the people around them builds a foundation for lifelong learning.

We partner with schools to create conditions where health and physical education thrive and engage the school community with programs to support student well-being.

Activity Overview.

The goal of this 2 part 3-hour workshop will be to provide parents, staff, etc. with the knowledge and skills to cope with the emotional consequences associated with the COVID crisis. However, too much stress can result in serious physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms. Below is a list of common symptoms of stress – everyone experiences stress in different ways. In order to learn how to manage stress, it is important to identify your specific signs/triggers that lead to stress. In this workshop participants will be able to:
