From Urban Girl To Black Pearl

What People Are Saying

“Black PEARL has taught me to accept who I am and love myself even more. It has taught me to carry myself like a young lady and to represent girls of color in a positive way. It has taught me more about my culture and the importance of having a high self esteem. I am thankful for this program and wish I could be in it until I finish college!”

— Renea Smith

Former Black PEARL Memeber

“I’ve seen a huge improvement in the overall behavior, esteem and performance of our Black PEARL Members. This program is helping so many young girls grow into women.”

— Shoundel McIntosh Principal

Bronx Theatre High School

"...every single month... one of our Black PEARL Program girls have been student of the month..."

— Paulette Christie, Assistant Principal

Bronx Mathematics Preparatory School

Raising Their Confidence

Each creative activity prompt is an opportunity for your child to embrace a new challenge. Through hands-on learning, your child is more likely to remain engaged and to build upon their creative problem-solving skills.

Activities We Work On Together

While our programs encourage young women to become better independent learners, we’ve also included special opportunities for you to work together during parent engagement events at your child’s school.

Raising Their Self Esteem

The Self Esteem of our young women is constantly under attack with the false identity of what beauty means in today’s society. We want our girls to become refined, well rounded, and the quintessential definition of femininity, beauty and strength.
